After waiting the required amount of time, sending a follow up email, waiting again, I still haven't received a single word from Dark Discoveries.
So, I'm moving on. I've resubmitted the story to Arkham Tales. Hopefully I get a response from them. And! They're a paying market. Aren't you proud of me? :D
